To get that straight, I didn´t say you can´t run it on 90 Hz, I just can´t remember. Maybe it will work on low quality settings and calm weather conditions.
EDIT: You could also go very low on steamVR resolution. EDIT2: You could also make use of that reprojection thingy which inserts estimated pictures. Not perfect but it will save you almost 50% of GPU power.

No I myself need 90fps. With my rift I managed to get a steady 90fps. That was comfortable for me. Tried 60fps as well but that is not comfortable for me. I leave the VR for PC what it is atm. Non that is. Try to save some money for a complete system upgrade inc a new VR set..

So, turns out Steam does work. I just never actually had any games in my library to test if i could play anything or not. Seems it's just the storefront/shop and maybe another menu that gives me an error in the launcher. Nothing really dealbreaking, but i may email their support and see if i can get it cleared up.
Just gave AMS2 a test, it ran nicely. But it was quite difficult to wrangle a ZB Commodore V8 Supercar around the streets of Adelaide using a keyboard.. Give me some time to get my PS5 controller set up with it, and to work out where my screenshots & photos get saved to, and i assure you, some nice photos will be incoming.
My next question for those who can help me, where do i find the livery files so i can create custom liveries for vehicles? It IS very much like P-Cars 2, even some of the menu screens feel familiar.

Maybe not perfect but much better than 45 Hz and pretty close to real 90 Hz. Just saying.

Tested my PS5 pad on the pc with AMS2. It works, but not exactly as i hoped it would. For some reason, the L2 and R2 triggers don't register as a progressive input, but more like the on/off input of a regular button. So while everything else works fine, the throttle and brakes are either 100% on, or 100% off. Just like keyboard controls. And that's not fun driving like that. Might have to get a pc specific gamepad to use with it.
And i found where my screenshots & photos get saved to, btw.

So Womp's been busy all of last week working at a band competition. It happens once a year. I'm the video director, and i run the camera crew and do the vision switching for the show. Each night's performances are live streamed online. The one week of the year where i'm actually working properly, hahaha.
Anyway, i prob can't post many pics of the show, as the bands that compete are all high school kids, but here's a few setup/backstage shots i got. Plus, i'm stuck in a small room every night of the show doing the switching.
That's just a small portion of our gear. All the things for the people who work upstairs, like myself, the guy doing the stream and the guys doing the audio mixing. Most of that is prob video stuff anyway. 3 cases on the left are the comms system, switching desk and the actual switcher rack. Bunch of monitors, crates of video cables, audio leads and power extension leads, and black tubs of miscellaneous HDMI cables and various other items we need.
The camera crew's weapon of choice. We use 4 all up. 2 roaming on the stage, and 2 fixed on tripods at the back of the room. Nice camera too.
A new toy i had to play with this year. Guy running the show bought it during last year's event, and we didn't use it, cause my boss brought his one along to use at the time. Still had that new electronics smell when i opened the box, hahaha. We also have a little Blackmagic touch screen that plugs into that deck that we use for backup recording.
Shot of a half set up stage, while the lighting guys were testing the lights.
A week later, and i feel like i'm still in recovery mode, lol.

That speaker selection on the stage looks pretty serious.

Oh, it's serious alright. The 2 massive black speakers on the very left of shot, if you stand in front of them or walk past them, you can feel the sound coming out. I've felt that a few times in the past, lol. And there's 2 more on the other side of the stage. We've been using those big speakers for years now.
Here's my video room all set up, btw. I'm basically set up in a small dressing room. There's a rat's nest of video, electrical and audio leads behind those 2 monitors, and we have two 100m reels of video cable running from my room upstairs there, all the way downstairs to where the stage is, for the 2 tripod cameras.
At the time i took that, we were still sorting out an issue with the comms, and the show was starting that night. Turns out it was just a dead mic cable up near my end. Thankfully.

Just realised, i completely forgot to post the rest of my photos from the lighting install i've been doing with my boss/work colleague. Well, here's more pics i took during phase 1 of the job, back around April-June.
Cable snake we installed for the truss beams, and which gave us many headaches by not wanting to work properly. We later discovered it was more intended for use with data cables, not power. But we made it work. Boss had to cut the ends off the power leads to fit them through the snake, and re-terminate them.
All nicely folded up above the stage, how it should be.

Phase 2, which we started around mid July, was all the lights out in the main body of the hall. And we've just about finished. Boss is still waiting for the rest of the lights he's ordered to be delivered from overseas, once those arrive, we can hang them. This part had it's own challenges. Like having to lay down a temporary road using cardboard sheets and particleboard panels, cause we couldn't drive the scissor lift directly on the floor of the hall. Took us much longer to move it about than it should've.
All the old lights we pulled down. One had a shuttlecock stuck inside it.
I had the fun task of running wiring looms across the top of a roof beam, to power the lights on the truss beams we hung at the back of the hall. Gloves were needed, as you can see..
Bars at the rear of the hall, largely for spots.
Rear bar on the stage, which we swapped over from a silver truss to a nice black one while we were there. Harder to see when it's up in the roof amongst the black curtains etc.
So that's that. Overall, it's been a trial and a half, lol. So many hurdles we've had to jump, mostly caused by the school.
We do have another high school that also wants a lighting refit in their hall, so that will be happening at a later date.

It's the actual Steam launcher that's giving me issues. Every time i'd try to sign in to my account using the launcher app thing, it would give me a bunch of errors, nothing would show up, and i couldn't do anything. So i ended up deleting it. So, turns out Steam does work. I just never actually had any games in my library to test if i could play anything or not. Seems it's just the storefront/shop and maybe another menu that gives me an error in the launcher. Nothing really dealbreaking, but i may email their support and see if i can get it cleared up.
So here's something interesting.. We took our pc to a repair place just recently, to sort out an issue mum and dad were having with their email. Long story short, there was some sort of problem going on with our anti-virus that was causing the issues. And, the same thing was also stopping Steam from working properly. And Epic games as well. Old anti-virus is gone, new one was installed, and both Steam and Epic work normally now.
Would not have guessed it was that.

It's been kinda quiet in here lately.. So what's everyone up to? Anyone have anything to post or share?
The Bathurst 1000 is happening this coming weekend. So from Thursday to Sunday, i'll be stuck to the couch. And it's been quite warm over here the last few days, so good thing we don't have a leather couch. Or i would literally be sticking to it in this heat, hahaha.

I don’t think this forum will stay. Nobody around here. To bad.. they all went to discord. I don’t like discord myself. Way to cluttered.

I check this forum pretty much every day, usually in vain though. Same here with Discord, big dislike!
