Really sorry to read that about your father-in-law. Take all the time you need to cope with that situation and get things sorted. This forum is a great place but the least important thing when real life gets in the way.

Hi folks.. sorry I've been AWOL for a long time. We've had a lot of family stuff going on recently and just haven't been able to pursue much else. My father-in-law has had some serious health issues which have involved prolonged hospital stays.. then being cared for at home.. back to hospital etc etc. Sadly, he took a major turn for the worse last week and was admitted into dedicated palliative care on Friday afternoon and passed away that evening. It's been taking up most of our lives and I've been unable to spend much time with the 'outside world'. Thought I should let you know that I haven't just abandoned or forgotten about you all. We'll have a few more taxing weeks ahead, but hopefully I can return to some 'normality' soon. Take care guys and hope everyone is well. Sorry to hear about your loss. Take as much time as you need. There's always a lot that needs to be sorted out when these things happen. And this forum will still be here when you return.

Damn it! Just got an email from Steam saying a game on my wishlist is currently on sale. And that game is Automobilista 2. And it's 50% off. And Steam still won't work for me. (tried everything, btw)
Now i don't know what to do. Do i buy it through the store on the Steam website, in the hopes i can get the damn thing working for me, or just leave it?

Why does steam not work for you? AMS2 50%off is a good deal. Love AMS2.

One of my racing mates declined AMS2 constantly. Then he finally bought it last Friday on sale. First comment: "Why did noone tell me that it is like PC2 but much better?" Maybe that helps with your decision.

Why does steam not work for you? AMS2 50%off is a good deal. Love AMS2. It's the actual Steam launcher that's giving me issues. Every time i'd try to sign in to my account using the launcher app thing, it would give me a bunch of errors, nothing would show up, and i couldn't do anything. So i ended up deleting it.
So here's another question for you Steam users. Can i access my game library and play games i've bought by signing in to my account through the Steam website, and not by using the launcher? Cause if i can do that, i should be right.

Maybe that helps with your decision. Thanks, that does help, hahaha. But then again, i kinda already knew that information. I have some store credit from a Steam gift card a relative gave me for xmas back in 2019 or something, and it's been sitting there unused ever since. Simply cause i couldn't find anything i liked in the price range to use it on, lol. Now i have a use for it.

As far as I know you have to install steam and play through steam. steam support should be able to help you out with your problem. Perhaps open a ticket so they can start helping you out.

Well i ended up buying AMS2. 50% off, i couldn't let that one go. I could access my game library through the Steam website, but wasn't able to play anything.
Now i just hope i'll get to play it one day, hahaha.

As said, contact steam support. There is a problem with your system. Perhaps they can help you with this. re AMS2, great choice. You could have bought yourself into the paddock club. Life time updates and beta testing. I’m a Reiza backer. Bought it at the first opportunity a few years ago.

Question, will a 1080Ti be able to drive a HP reverb 2? Not at its max capacity of course but with some tricks? I really want to go back to VR racing. I do have the PS5 so I can and will buy the PSVR2 in a few months. But I also want to race with AMS2 in VR. If my system can drive the Reverb, with lesser GFX, then I’m considering the purchase as well. Does Anybody here have experience with this? With a more or less system like mine?

If I remember correctly, I have been starting my Reverb (1) with a 1080ti. Pretty sure, as I bought my first Reverb a short time after its release, whereas the 3090 (my follow-up to my 1080ti) was released a little later. I was running PC2 at the time which produces about the same GPU load as AMS2 these days. So I would say yes, you can run it with some limitations. I am running it on 60 Hz though, I don´t have any issues with that. This is not the same for everybody.

I’m afraid it is not the best combo. I’ve had the Rift cv2 but is eol. I need 90 fps for sure. So I think my 1080ti is not powerful enough to drive the Reverb 2. It will be a matter of start saving money for a PC upgrade. Problem is. When I buy a new GFX card, I also need a new CPU and a new power supply. Probably new RAM and with all that new hardware, A new MoBo will also be needed. Or with other words, a complete new pc. This will cost at least €2500 if I can assemble it for that price..
