OK, so following on from this post smscommunity.freeforums.net/post/238I've started the build, went for the engine first cos that's the best bit. 1/12th scale Cosworth DFV Took plenty of time over each and every detail, had fun with the painting of many tiny parts, pleased with how it's looking so far. Nice work. I like the detail you do with your paintwork. Eg, the exhaust pipes. Looks like the engine & diff unit has just been removed from the car, and is in need of a good clean.
Looking at those pics, i have a feeling it's the same scale as the old 1977 Wolf WR1 model i have. Prob used the same engine as yours, as it looks very similar to mine, with the black headers with white 'Ford' text.

Yeah I think many of those Tamiya 1/12 kits date from the 70s and they share a lot of parts, especially the engine. But then I suppose the real cars did too. I put a fair bit of weathering on it, especially the cam cover and gearbox casing using the Tamiya weathering master sets and the panel line accent colour. I was certainly trying to go for a more used and worn look. Some of the heat colouring on the exhaust is done with ladies eyeliner pencils. Can you still say that these days I'm not sure.

It appears nothing bad has happened. So i'm gonna say yes you can.
About the engine, i was referring to the real car, lol. But in a recent search, it seems the Wolf WR1 used a Cosworth DFV as well. (prob a few teams that used that engine back then) Hence why the model one looked familiar.
